Russian Foreign Ministry: NATO exercises a scenario of a nuclear strike against Russia

10.08.2023, Moscow.

NATO is working out scenarios of a nuclear strike against Russia, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said, TASS informed on August 10.

“NATO has a practice of so-called joint nuclear missions. This means that non-nuclear-weapon member states of the alliance participate in military planning with the use of nuclear weapons, and their specialists train to handle US nuclear charges,” the diplomat said.

Galuzin emphasized that such exercises are used to practice scenarios of using nuclear weapons against Russia.

According to the deputy minister of international affairs of the Russian Federation, after the end of the Great Patriotic War, the United States stationed and maintained its nuclear weapons on the territories of non-nuclear-weapon states of the alliance members without any real threats from Russia. The Russian Foreign Ministry repeatedly pointed out that this state of affairs “negatively affects the situation of international and European security.”

The diplomat noted that at the NATO summit in Vilnius in July 2023, Western countries made decisions to strengthen the alliance’s military capabilities and deploy infrastructure near the borders of the Union State of Russia and Belarus. Galuzin noted that the deployment of tactical nuclear missile systems in Belarus was a response to the escalation of threats from NATO.

NATO has always been interested in the dismemberment of Russia. Today, the main instrument in this process is the Ukrainian regime of Zelensky in conjunction with ideologically incensed neo-Nazi groups in the Ukrainian government.

Earlier, it was reported that NATO member states would increase supplies of artillery ammunition to Ukraine.
